Meeting the Needs of Students

The challenge I face as a teacher is incorporating this wonderful new world of web based tools into my English curriculum. I have seen a couple of interesting projects involving the use of student-created videos posted to the web; I have listened to podcasts created by students; I have watched members of this course use wiki to collaborate on documents and semantic nets. All of this productivity over the last two weeks has inspired me. Already, I have shared my blog with two colleagues within the district to give them an idea of using this one particular tool in the English classroom. Still, I need other examples of ways ELA teachers are using web tools in their classrooms. I will take what I am learning and stumble through using these tools. I will push forward to birth a curriculum rich in 21st century literacy skills.
