I have added a delicious little plug-in called Talkr to my blog that turns my posts into podcasts. Using this free tool allows those who prefer to listen to a blog the opportunity to free themselves from a computer and listen on any mp3 player. Of course this tool helps those with vision impairment to enjoy a blog. Setting up an account and getting the necessary code to add to your blog only takes a few minutes. And one may use the Talkr account as a podcasts aggregator. The downside? Too bad blog comments are not turned into podcasts. Also, the vocalization engine sounds rudimentary and mechanical. As a result, Talkr has a difficult time translating some words or jargon into speech. We may see these drawbacks addressed as this tool develops. Overall, Talkr is a useful plug-in and adds to the cool factor of a blog.

(Note: Edublog users can find information about Talkr in their blog administration area under plug-ins)
