Collaboration 1.0 A few days ago, another teacher and I collaboratively planned our curriculum map for the coming school year and placed the map on a wiki. After selecting readings for our poetry and short story units, we cut and pasted content for our unit plans into the wiki pages, created new pages, and linked to other documents and online resources. We proudly sent the link for our wiki to our supervisor who was thrilled to see us integrating technology. This task represented my first attempt at using a wiki for real world applications. Prior to this effort, I had used a wiki for one of the technology courses I had taken. The great thing about this site is that it can be used as a resource for teachers everywhere. Using wikis and other 2.0 tools extend collaboration beyond the teacher’s lounge.

The more I work with these tools, The more I like them and the better I am able to share them with students and with other educators.

    Tony,
Just wanted to comment, your wiki looks great. I think that you are a prime example of how tech integration can happen. I have been busy and away from the computer these past few weeks, but always make time to read your blog. I inevitably end up following the links that you include and get thinking about what tech projects I will work on this year. I learn a great deal from your work. Also, I enjoyed reading your meme, thanks for including me. I too am a fan of banana ice cream.
    Take care,
    Brian

    Brian,

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and for your kind comments and encouragement. I am excited about the potential for using these tools in the classroom. I also look forward to sharing these tools with other teachers.
