I’ve been silent too long

September 29, 2007 | |

I have been silent for a long time.

Shortly after my last post, I learned I was experiencing a serious health issue. While I am confident that the issue will be resolved, my attention has been on these matters. Be assured that as I move toward healing, I will, once again, continue championing the use of Read/Write web tools in the English Language Arts classroom.

This school year, our class blog has expanded to include the other ninth grade English class. It has been great to hear the many voices of our students as they express their opinions. Take a look at their responses to a poem we read last week.

Good to hear your voice Tony :-)
This is a very effective example of how you have used the comment feature of your blog to support student reflection. Would you be able to add a link in a blog post on ICTinEnglishNZplease?

Tony, I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well and wish you the best. I enjoyed reading the blog from Carol and your classes. I too, have found that live blogging in class to be a powerful tool. Not as much luck with the participation out of class. Keep pushing the tech. - you are a leader in our district.
    Take care,
    Brian

    Tony,
Get well soon. I, too am trying to keep up the blogging, and your work has been an inspiration. I look forward to reading it again soon.

Thanks for your support and kind words Fiona, Brian, and David. I am surprised and pleased that you continue to follow my blog despite my long absence. My recovery has been a long process, but I look forward to continuing my writing in a month after I return to work.

    Happy Holidays.
    Tony
